ELLAINE François

Trainer at CITYPILATES

How did you get into Pilates?

I used to work as a flight attendant a couple of years back. As the job required you to move quick and complete tasks as soon as possible, I was unconscious of the way I move/lift heavy things inside the aircraft. This caught up with me over the years of neglect and continuous wrong movements hence I developed scoliosis. Being in that situation, required me to do a lot of physiotherapy which also introduced me to Pilates. I never looked back ever since.

What do you like about Pilates?

As I started Pilates due to an injury, but with consistency in attending classes and perhaps the strong determination to recover, I noticed that it didn’t just helped me with the injury but it transformed my body in the most positive way.

Why did you become a Pilates trainer?

I would like to inspire and be a part of another person’s healing journey and the gradual transformation of their body.

What is special about your Pilates teaching style?

What I can offer differently is the method trying to connect with clients, not seeing them as someone who just goes to a class but as someone who would be in this Pilates journey for long term. Strive to create an environment that they will not only want to know exercises from reformer classes but get curious and challenged enough to learn other equipment as well.
