CLELIA CALABRò
Trainerin bei CITYPILATES
WHAT BROUGHT YOU INTO PILATES?
Iʼll be brutally honest: after the first year of lockdown, it was my lower back pain to bring me on the reformer. I was scared it would be too hard, but a great first impression with an amazing trainer locked me in!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT PILATES?
I like the aspect of control: listening to your movement, understanding what needs engagement for a successful exercise while breathing accurately really helped me develop self awareness but also self kindness. Through Pilates, I learned that showing up with consistency is more important than anything else.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A PILATES TEACHER?
I never thought of myself as a “movement personˮ, even less as a Pilates teacher. It was my own teachers who encouraged me to try, until I eventually trusted their advice and embarked on the teacher training journey. Now that I see how impactful my guidance can be on other peopleʼs lives, I cannot wait to do more of it.
WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT YOUR TEACHING?
My clients describe my classes as a place to feel welcome, capable and strong, regardless of their level. They also say my playlists make the training a real treat! But my motto is “kind and focused like a championˮ I donʼt like to bring people to their breaking point, rather to a place where it feels good to challenge yourself and excited about your progress.
